The Maldives Archipelago is a chain of tropical islands in the Indian Ocean renowned for their white sand beaches, brilliant turquoise lagoons and swaying palms – a pristine paradise now firmly established on the world surf map. This image of an unknown wave discovered during a surf exploration boat trip was taken in the central atoll area. Surfing is relatively new in the area so the wave is probably still waiting to be named. I used a regular camera with a water housing.
